WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with the issues you are currently facing/experiencing in your life today.
Finding that healthy balance, your healthy balance.
Myth: Whilst some people think counselling is only for people who have serious emotional problems...
Fact: While counselling does help those with crisis emotional problems, it also is intended for:
- Individuals who have difficulty with self esteem
-Abuse or Trauma
-Alcohol and Drug misuse
- A loss of direction
- Behaviour issues

Hi, I’m Katrina Martine (Kat)
I am a qualified counsellor who would like to help you reach a goal or make a change in your life whether this is accepting and moving on from an experience that has happened in your life or other struggles you may be experiencing in the here and now. I truly believe that within a positive, safe, working relationship with a counsellor, people are able to make positive changes in their life. As an empathetic counsellor I will walk with you on your journey. Helping you with your self image and self-actualization – the things that make you feel worthwhile to fulfill your potential and maximise your well-being. I believe that we have all come from different paths and have had experiences that have brought us to this page today. We are all unique individual human beings who deal with “Life” differently and that is ok.... there isn’t a right or wrong way. Working with you will give us a clearer vision of what is happening in the here and now, removing those blocks that at times we feel are holding us back. Knowing and understanding that in fact we have a choice in whatever we do. I work in a non judgemental manner to provide you a safe space to just be you....

A HUMANISTIC APPROACH
All people are inherently good. To reach the level of 'goodness' every person must go through certain phases in life.
Life throws many surprises at us, and while we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can however take control of how we respond to certain situations, how we feel, to learn to accept and how to remove certain blocks that stop us continuing with everyday life.
As human beings we have a choice in everything we do, however our choices are at times clouded by what is happening around us in our current situation.
As your counsellor I will work with you to remove such clouds.
This service is a favourite among many of my clients, as it is often times one of the keys to a happier, more manageable life. My job is to work with you to know/find your tools and techniques to work with your emotions, thoughts and feelings to achieve a balanced and fulfilling life.
Prices and Times
Sessions can be face to face or via Phone/Zoom
Each session takes 50 minutes and are £32 per session.
The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination.
The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.
